The author begins his journey with a look into what public schools were like when he was a student. In first-grade, Bob's day began with a recitation of the Lord's Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The most popular reader of the day was "The Story of Little Black Sambo" loved by children everywhere.
Contrast that to the school day of a first-grader today. There is no prayer allowed in public schools. In many venues, the Pledge of Allegiance is forbidden. In place of "The Story of Little Black Sambo" children are force fed propaganda on gender identity, the LGBTQ lifestyle, critical race theory, and cancel culture.
The journey continues through the years to the present as we witness the continued destruction of our public schools with the formation of the Department of Education, the growth in teachers' unions, and the impact of the riots during the summer of 2020.
The most revealing book on education you will read!
Educator, lecturer, author, historian, and advocate for better schools. Bob has written and spoken publicly in support of American values and against the destruction of our educational system brought about by "cancel culture", "critical race theory", and "DEI" which he collectively refers to as the "unholy trinity".
As a teacher, he single-handedly took on the teachers' unions, public school officials, and town bureaucrats in a first in the nation legal and political battle to remove asbestos from the school building in which he had been a teacher. His efforts served as a paradigm for other communities to follow in their attempts to ensure the health and safety of their schoolchildren. In addition, he fought to eliminate toxic drinking water at the school. His actions led to the EPA regulation known as the Lead and Copper Rule.
